Support BAM PTA's Giving Campaign!
The Giving Campaign is one of BAM PTA's main fundraising efforts, each year raising about half of the entire PTA budget. The campaign started in 2006 with 10 parent volunteers and raised $28,000. In 2008/2009, with over 20 parent volunteers, we raised over $48,000, enabling the PTA to pay for critical programs that benefit all students at BAM including:
Weekly PE classes with the Berkeley YMCA;
A lunch time supervisor in the cafeteria and YMCA staff organizing recreation programs during lunch;
Salaries for BAM's art, percussion and dance teachers;
Critical counseling services;
Field trips, classroom supplies, and much, much more.

In 2009/2010 our goal is to raise $55,000 to continue these vital PTA programs, with 100% of BAM families donating. So far, we've made good progress towards these goals:

Ask your extended family and friends to support BAM: by mid-December, over 25 extended family members and friends of BAM donated to the PTA. We are very fortunate to have such a caring community! Please ask your child's grandparents, godparents, aunties and uncles to support our school by sending them this letter .
Ask your employer to match your donation: Many companies, including Levi Strauss, PG&E, Chevron, Lawrence Livermore National Security, Wells Fargo and other banks will match employees' contributions to the PTA. This helps to leverage your donation to BAM! If your company will match your contribution, please contact Jill Herschman (jill@lmi.net) for more details.
Become a Giving Campaign committee member: Contact Anne Schonfield (anne.schonfield@earthlink.net) to become a member of this fun and very productive PTA committee!
